This relation gives a precise meaning to the standard folklore that pure 3d gravity is related to two copies of SL(2,R) Chern-Simons theory. I will discuss that replacing SL(2,R) Chern-Simons theory by Teichmueller TQFT solves several known problems in the correspondence. The relation provides a computationally useful tool to study partition functions of 3d gravity. The talk is based on work in progress with Scott Collier and Mengyang Zhang. Zare (3:30 PM - 5:30 PM) |
